2 Samuel 17:2 KJV
And I will come upon him while he is weary and weak handed, and will make him afraid: and all the people that are with him shall flee; and I will smite the king only.

Today we will look into the verse from 2 Samuel 17:2. This is Ahitophel who was King David’s counsellor, after he rebelled because of Absalom is telling Absalom what he would do to King David.

We see four things here:

1. The enemy when he attacks you, he doesn’t attack when you are strong but when you are weak.
The one way you will be strong is when you read the word of God and pray consistently. The moment you stop, you become spiritually weak. You need to be careful when you are emotional weak or weary or burdened and make sure you remain strong and you will not compromise.

2. The enemy cause you to drench in fear.
The enemy might fog your mind with anxious thoughts which even may not be real. This is one of the strongest weapons of the enemy. The enemy’s voice will not prevail.

3. The enemy tries to isolate you.
The story of Job tells us how the devil isolated him by taking his sons and daughters away from him. If you are in that place, don’t be worried because it will be a season of attack of the enemy. All you have to remember is you don’t need anybody but Jesus because He is the only person who will not leave you nor forsake you and remains the same yesterday, today and forever.

4. The enemy tries to attack the head (leader, the strong).
He does attack you in your weak points, but also attacks you on your strengths.
Moses’s was the meekest person on earth, and that was his strength but he lost his patience and smite the rock twice when God asked him to smite just once (Numbers 12:3).
The enemy attacks the one thing that is precious in our life.

In this season may you be under the mighty hand of God and resist the devil.
