Live a Lover’s Life
Philippians 1:9-11 MSG
“So this is my prayer: that your love will flourish and that you will not only love much but well. Learn to love appropriately. You need to use your head and test your feelings so that your love is sincere and intelligent, not sentimental gush. Live a lover’s life, circumspect and exemplary, a life Jesus will be proud of: bountiful in fruits from the soul, making Jesus Christ attractive to all, getting everyone involved in the glory and praise of God.”

In today’s scripture it tells us to live a lover’s life. If there is anybody who lived that perfectly well, it is Jesus and the reason He could do that is because He was filled with the presence and the power of the Holy Spirit.
Living a lover’s life is not emotional as you see in the movies.
Every kind of emotional love is temporary. This is not the kind of love that we are talking about. The love that we are talking about is that which involves our intelligence as much as our feelings.
Jesus said, “‘You must love the LORD your God with all your heart, all your soul, all your strength, and all your mind.’ And, ‘Love your neighbour as yourself.'”
It’s not enough that you love God with your words and actions, but you have to love God in every aspect of your life. The same goes when you are loving your neighbour, your church, your city and nation.
When you increase in your love and your heart abounds with the fruit of the Spirit and love towards God, your heart begins to make Jesus Christ attractive to everybody.
This you can achieve only by the help of the Holy Spirt and this is the kind of love that will change people around us.
Prayer:
Father I pray that love will invade the heart of my friend right now as we pray this morning. Thank you because today we are going to live a lover’s life. We give You all the praise, the glory and honour, in Jesus’ mighty name I pray. Amen!
