Imitating Him, Till Death!
Romans 8:11 NLT
“The Spirit of God, who raised Jesus from the dead, lives in you. And just as God raised Christ Jesus from the dead, He will give life to your mortal bodies by this same Spirit living within you.”

Romans 8:11 emphasizes that you can experience the victory Jesus experienced as you imitate Him and make Him your role model.
The key to experiencing the resurrection power of God is imitating the practical example of Jesus.
Do you remember the time when almost everyone had a wristband that said “WWJD – What Would Jesus Do?” Can you ask that question in your everyday practical living? In every situation, ask yourself – what would Jesus do? How would He want me to respond to this situation?
Why did Jesus come to live on earth? He didn’t just come as a 33 year old man, die on the cross and go to Heaven; He also came to live on our behalf. He lived a perfect, sinless, spotless life not just to pay the price of our sin but also to give us a role model to follow.
In John chapter 13, Jesus washed the feet of His disciples being their Master and Teacher, and asked them to follow His example. In 1 Corinthians 11:1 Paul tells us to imitate him, as he imitates Jesus. That should become the goal of your life – to become like Jesus in everything you do.
Many times we look to a pastor or a famous person as our role model. It is good to receive inspiration and learn from people but think about the measure of what Jesus would do in the same situation. When you make Him your role model, it will begin to change your lifestyle, your friend circles, your behavior and attitude with people.
The Bible says that unless a grain of wheat falls to the ground, it will not multiply and bear fruit. Jesus was willing to obey the Father to the point of death. When He was broken and when He died, resurrection power flowed from Jesus.
Are you willing to follow Jesus to the point of death? To humble yourself, be insulted like He was and not retaliate? If you are willing to do that in your every situation and problems that you face and follow Him, the Lord says His resurrection power will flow through you and you will come out with His glory and His presence living in you. His beauty will shine in your ashes and you will become like Him because of the resurrection power that is already at work inside you.
