Trust in Mere Humans

“Don’t put your trust in mere humans. They are as frail as breath. What good are they?”

As you know we have been studying one verse at a time from the book of Isaiah in our podcast series.
Today’s portion is from Isaiah 2:22 – “Don’t put your trust in mere humans. They are as frail as breath. What good are they?”
If you look into the entire book of Isaiah, God is been asking this same question as to why do we trust in mere humans more than trusting in Him.
Your help comes from the maker of heaven and the earth.
In everyone’s lives there are some unmet desires and needs, but what do you do with them? Do you go and tell people about it or do you go to God? Instead of going to people, let God know about all your needs and desires and let Him know that you trust in Him than the people around you.
If you trust in yourself or in people around, failure is for sure.
God may use people or any medium to bless you, but trusting in something that God used last time to bless you to provide for you again this time, you may be making a big mistake.
Prayer is your continual, intentional discipline of expressing your trust in God. Share on XIt may be your marriage, finances, your house, your life, relationships or anything, let your trust be in God alone.
The moment we begin to trust in ourselves, we are out of God’s will for our life, because heaven is full of people who trusted God and hell is full of people who trusted their own ways.
When you begin to express your trust in God through prayer, God will begin to reveal to you in detail the things that He is going to do in your life.
The same thing happened with Abraham, the more he trusted God, the more God began to reveal His plans in detail that He was going to do through Abraham.
I believe and hope as you begin to pray today you are going to hear God voice and God is going to give you directions in the middle of your chaos.
Prayer:
“Abba Father, we humble ourselves in Your mighty hands and we ask you for your grace, touch, mercy and kindness. I pray that as we express our trust in You through prayer this morning, You will come and overflow and fill us and cause us to fix our eyes on You and only on You as we pray. If You don’t build the building, then the builders labor in vain. We acknowledge this and we trust only in You. We give You all the praise in Jesus name we pray. Amen!”

Psalm 147:2–3 reveals God's heart as a Restorer rather than a Punisher. Although Israel went into exile because of its own rebellion, God did not abandon His people. Instead, He promised to restore Jerusalem, bring the exiles home, heal the brokenhearted, and bind up their wounds.
The message reminds us that while God may use friends, pastors, counselors, or loved ones to help us, true healing and restoration ultimately come from the Lord. His restoration reaches every part of our lives—our hearts, relationships, health, finances, emotions, and spiritual walk.
God knows every wound, including those hidden from others. Unlike people, who can only comfort from the outside, He sees the deepest parts of our hearts and heals completely. His healing is so complete that even the scars of past pain lose their power to define us.
The devotion encourages believers to fix their eyes on God instead of relying solely on human help. No matter how far someone has drifted, how many mistakes they have made, or how broken they feel, God is still calling them back. His desire is to restore, heal, and make all things beautiful in His perfect timing.
