Made To Be Like God

We need to understand that God did not create us for ourselves but we were created for God, by God through His power.

When God created humanity, His goal was to make us like Him and in His image.

So often we have role models in our lives – to be like them, travel like them, preach like them, dress like them, but when we begin to understand that the greatest calling on our life is to be not like people but to be like God Himself, the way we live our life will be completely changed.

We can begin this day by asking the Lord to be like Him, live like Him, talk like Him, reflect His heart in all our activities, in decision making related to finance, parenting skills, behaviour with spouse, family, in everything that we do let it be like Jesus. If we can start our day believing this then so many things will fall into its perspective.

God is God because of who He is. There is incredible amount of purity and righteousness inside of God.

Jesus not only carried our sin but also became our sin so that we can become the righteousness of God. Whatever Adam and Eve lost in the garden, the moment we come to Jesus we will be completely transformed and we can have the same righteousness, holiness, and beauty in which we were created.

Let’s remind ourselves today not to live for ourselves. Our goal should be to become like God in every area of our life.

God has adopted us into His family and so every action of ours should reflect the character of God by showing mercy and love especially towards the ones who have wronged you. In doing this we display His beauty and His righteousness in our life and become more like Him.

Let this be our calling, aim and ambition in life.
