A Generous God
Matthew 20:15 HCSB
Don’t I have the right to do what I want with my business? Are you jealous because I’m generous?
So often our perspective of God is limited to our misinformed experience. We need to really understand who our God is.
The parable in Matthew 20:15 shows the personality and the character of God.
This parable is about the master who gave equal wages to the servants who worked more as well as to the servants who worked less.
So often the church is upset and get angry when they see the goodness of God over people. What should be our right response when we see God blessing somebody? Should we be jealous or be filled with worship? Should we be upset like how Cain acted or be like Jesus or Job or David whose relationship with God depended on the revelation they had of God?
The more they saw God, the more they worshipped Him.
Celebrate God when He blesses people because you never know what God has in store for you.
Respond to God with worship instead of jealousy, and with thanksgiving instead of criticism.
It is our ungrateful heart that will kill our blessings. Share on XBecause of the ungratefulness of the Israelites and their continuous murmuring they lost their blessing to enter into the promise land.
Jonah in fact became upset when God showed His grace upon Nineveh.
Can we be different? Let’s begin this day with worship. Focus on what God has already done or what He will be releasing into our life, which will be a reason for us to be thankful to Him, because we serve a generous God!
