No Good Thing
Romans 7:18-19 ASV
For I know that in me, that is, in my flesh, dwelleth no good thing: for to will is present with me, but to do that which is good is not. For the good which I would I do not: but the evil which I would not, that I practise.

Paul is explaining that there’s no good thing that dwells within himself. The verse talks about how rebellion, disobedience, disconnection from God takes place even though we have the knowledge of what is good and that which is not.
Paul explains he doesn’t have the ability to do it himself. If there’s something that has to be done, we ought to depend on the ability of the Holy Spirit.
Because, we can’t live the life we ought to by our own ability, Jesus died for us and gave His Holy Spirit to do a work in us.
As you begin to depend on the Holy Spirit you will gravitate towards righteousness and your life would become fruitful to God.
The book of John 7:38 says: “Anyone who believes in Me may come and drink! For the Scriptures declare, ‘Rivers of living water will flow from his heart.’”
When we put our faith in Jesus. He makes us a channel of blessing to everyone around us.
Today, ask the Holy Spirit to work in you, for you and through you. Live your life dependant on the Holy Spirit and not on the flesh.
Psalm 147:2–3 reveals God's heart as a Restorer rather than a Punisher. Although Israel went into exile because of its own rebellion, God did not abandon His people. Instead, He promised to restore Jerusalem, bring the exiles home, heal the brokenhearted, and bind up their wounds.
The message reminds us that while God may use friends, pastors, counselors, or loved ones to help us, true healing and restoration ultimately come from the Lord. His restoration reaches every part of our lives—our hearts, relationships, health, finances, emotions, and spiritual walk.
God knows every wound, including those hidden from others. Unlike people, who can only comfort from the outside, He sees the deepest parts of our hearts and heals completely. His healing is so complete that even the scars of past pain lose their power to define us.
The devotion encourages believers to fix their eyes on God instead of relying solely on human help. No matter how far someone has drifted, how many mistakes they have made, or how broken they feel, God is still calling them back. His desire is to restore, heal, and make all things beautiful in His perfect timing.
