Deuteronomy 12:8 NLT
Your pattern of worship will change.Today all of you are doing as you please.

The Bible talks about worship being full of truth and Spirit.

In Deuteronomy 12:8, God talks about the generation that was following Moses and then Joshua into the promise land.

Patterns of worship will change in different seasons of life. In the Old Testament people worshiped God with sacrifices and by burning incense, whereas in the New Testament that was not necessary as Jesus made the ultimate sacrifice on the cross.

Many a time, we think that only our way of worshiping is right but the style doesn’t really matter. The only thing that matters is that it is from the heart, is guided by the Spirit of God and has its foundations on the truth of God’s word.

One may not find two different churches or families or societies worshiping the same way.

For example, if someone feels that Jesus is not God, only the Father is God and the Spirit is some force, I may not be comfortable worshiping along with them as they are not worshiping the same God, and not because of a different style of worship.

I may speak in tongues during worship but I can worship in a setting where people don’t. However if they say that speaking in tongues is not biblical, the foundation of truth is not there and I may not be comfortable worshiping there.

It doesn’t matter whether you worship by kneeling or jumping; it’s the heart that matters to God. Patterns and styles will keep changing but God’s word, His presence and His power never will.

I pray that you rely on Him alone all days of your life and that you worship Him in truth and in Spirit.
