The Exercise of Love
1 Corinthians 13:8 KJV
“Charity never faileth: but whether there be prophecies, they shall fail; whether there be tongues, they shall cease; whether there be knowledge, it shall vanish away.”
Every time we go to God we have the ability and potential to change the circumstances around us.
One thing that stops us from experiencing the fullness of God, is our lack of faith.
The bible says in 1 Corinthians 13:8 that charity never fails. The King James version uses the word charityfor love.
There are several things that you’d do when you pray – you may prophesy, pray in tongues or use your knowledge to pray (ref. 1 Corinthians 14), Paul says all these may cease, fail or vanish away, but one thing will not fail is love.
Do you really love your prayer requests? Are you passionately praying for someone that you love? Are you truly in love with the nation that you are praying for?
Love needs to become the purpose of our prayer – love for God and love for the people around us.
When you love, it doesn’t feel like hard work. Jacob loved Racheal and he worked for her a total of 14 years and the bible says for Jacob it seemed like couple of days just because he was deeply in love with Rachel.
Hope you be gripped with love – love for God first and for His people. When you learn to exercise this love especially in prayer, this love is converted into such sweet essence of prayer which can transform destinies, nations, and the hearts and minds of people. The things that are not possible by just speaking in tongues and prophesying and knowledge, it is possible when you truly begin to exercise your love.
Let your prayer today not be just an obligation but let it be an exercise of love and let it bring forth results.
