Series: Marks of a True Disciple

Jesus often spoke in parables that were incomprehensible, and were needed to be explained to the disciples when they were alone with Him.

  • A regular person would read and go back, but the disciples stayed with Jesus and asked Him. The disciples are those who have access to the inside information that Jesus wouldn’t want to reveal to everyone.
  • They are the ones who not only just read His Word but take it to Him and ask Him for the meaning.
  • The second mark of being a true disciple is being persistent to know Him more and deeper.
  • The disciples, being unsatisfied with the parables and sermons, asked Him for the meaning. Hence, Jesus opened up the things hidden from everyone else to the disciples who in turn established the first century Church because of the revelations they received from Him.

The more He is sought after, the more He will be found, and the more He is found, the more the opportunity to love, obey, serve and follow Him.
