Series: Praying for Forgiveness
This week we have been studying on the forgiveness of God.
- Jesus taught us to pray: Forgive us our sins as we have forgiven those who have sinned against us.
- Its not just in your relationship with God you apply forgiveness, it is also with one another.
- You need to apply the forgiveness of God in every area of your life.
- In this passage Jesus is being brutal about worship.
- Do you want God to receive your prayer, worship, tithing, service?
- God chose to accept Abel’s offering and God chose to reject Cain’s offering.
- God says your offering would not be accepted till you reconcile with your brother or sister.
- That’s why it says leave your sacrifice at the altar, go back and reconcile for continuing worship.
- 1 Samuel 15:25
– But now, please forgive my sin and come back with me so that I may worship the Lord. - Saul says to Samuel if you do not forgive me I would not be able to worship God.
- When relationships are not healed and forgiven, then our relationship with God stops growing.
- God is bound by His word and principles.
- If you want to worship God, pray for forgiveness.
- Jesus died and forgave us while we were still sinners.
- How much more you extend forgiveness even when the person hasn’t repented !
- Ask the Lord to give you grace and strength to forgive.
Hope this lifts your spirit and triggers a fresh insight about forgiveness.
