1 Peter 2:12 NLT
Be careful to live properly among your unbelieving neighbors. Then even if they accuse you of doing wrong, they will see your honorable behavior, and they will give honor to God when He judges the world.

Who is my neighbor? Who are those people that God want me to love the way I love myself? How do I love my neighbor? These are few important questions we are taking into account in this week. Because the bible says, “…you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.’ The second is this: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ No other commandment is greater than these.” Pastor Priji speaks on, “live properly and honorably” from “who is my neighbour” series.
Identifying who my neighbours are and understanding that we are obliged to love them is vital because loving our neighbour as we love our self comes as a mandate from the scripture.
Loving people based on our preference can be easy but loving others can be a challenge especially when they don’t necessarily do, live or have the same life style as we have. Our neighbor may not have the same lifestyle as we may have; they may talk different, eat different or may not be friendly and sociable as you would like to be towards them. In midst of all these challenges, by exhibiting the love of Jesus by living properly and honorably is the key to love your neighbour.
1 Peter 2:12 gives us the responsibility to live properly among our unbelieving neighbours with honorable behavior. The greatest blessing we could give to our neighbour could be through our lifestyle. When God would judge the world the people who observed our lives would give glory to God through our proper and honorable life.
Daniel from the bible is the perfect example to this topic on living properly and honorably. Even though the land that he lived passed a new law saying, no other God than the emperor is to be worshiped, Daniel brought no changes to the Godly lifestyle he had. He continued to pray and honor God and began to set example for others.
“I like your Christ; I do not like your Christians. Your Christians are so unlike your Christ.” – By Mahatma Gandhi. This is a profound quote from one of the powerful leaders the world has known. To a great extent this man is right because the area Christians has often failed is the area of setting Christ like example to our neighbor.
We are ambassadors of Christ, when the world around us sees you and I, let them see Jesus. In order for that to happen, let us live a life worthy of God calling. By living properly and honorably, let us set an example for our neighbour and in return they will know the living God. God bless you!
Psalm 147:2–3 reveals God's heart as a Restorer rather than a Punisher. Although Israel went into exile because of its own rebellion, God did not abandon His people. Instead, He promised to restore Jerusalem, bring the exiles home, heal the brokenhearted, and bind up their wounds.
The message reminds us that while God may use friends, pastors, counselors, or loved ones to help us, true healing and restoration ultimately come from the Lord. His restoration reaches every part of our lives—our hearts, relationships, health, finances, emotions, and spiritual walk.
God knows every wound, including those hidden from others. Unlike people, who can only comfort from the outside, He sees the deepest parts of our hearts and heals completely. His healing is so complete that even the scars of past pain lose their power to define us.
The devotion encourages believers to fix their eyes on God instead of relying solely on human help. No matter how far someone has drifted, how many mistakes they have made, or how broken they feel, God is still calling them back. His desire is to restore, heal, and make all things beautiful in His perfect timing.
