Should I Hide My Plan?
Genesis 18:17, 19 NLT
“Should I hide my plan from Abraham?” the Lord asked. I have singled him out so that he will direct his sons and their families to keep the way of the Lord by doing what is right and just. Then I will do for Abraham all that I have promised.”

Series: Prayer Bargain
Having a fresh encounter with Jesus every day is important. One can pursue God in worship. Prayer also helps welcome God’s presence in one’s life.
Shortly after God visited Abraham and told him that he was going to have a son, he was going to destroy Sodom and Gomorrah.
The verses talk about a conversation that God had with Himself about whether He should hide His plan from Abraham or not. This is because Abraham was His special friend and God had planned to use him to cause all people to walk with Him.
God debates for reasons to reveal His plans to His people more than they desire to know them.
God didn’t reveal His plans for Sodom and Gomorrah to Abraham so that he could go around preaching there or to try to change the mind of God. He wanted Abraham to use the power and authority that he had through his relationship with Him. Abraham interceded with God and He made some changes in His plan.
When God reveals His plan to a person, he/she shouldn’t ignore it or go around talking about it but respond in the right way.
After receiving a secret from God, one ought not insult or talk badly about God but instead pray, fix his/her eyes on Him, hold on, and pray for the right things to come to pass.
When one is willing to pray like Abraham did, he/she will turn out to be a history maker like Abraham, who gave his hundred percent in prayer.
