The story of Ruth talks about how she served her mother-in-law inspite of not understanding the outcome of her relation.
Many times as people, we constantly try to gain/receive something from a relationship.
However, Ruth was 100% loyal in her relationship.
The book of Ruth talks two men who died in a famine.
Being in Bethlehem they did not die in the famine, whereas moving to a prosperous land they died.
There were two women named:
i) Orpah which means Mane (deer/gazelle).
ii) Ruth which means Friend.
The first woman Orpah was considered beautiful, whereas Ruth was an ordinary person.
We constantly look for things to develop on the outside.
Though Ruth was ordinary, she made history!
It doesn’t matter how we look, what we do, where we go; those are not the standards by which God would measure us as a person.
Are you a person who is a friend, somebody who is available?
Ruth was a friend to her husband, children, mother-in-law, community and Boaz.
Ruth won the favour of God because of her heart of a friend!
If you willing to be a friend to the people God has placed around you, you are setting yourself up for God’s favour!
Psalm 147:2–3 reveals God's heart as a Restorer rather than a Punisher. Although Israel went into exile because of its own rebellion, God did not abandon His people. Instead, He promised to restore Jerusalem, bring the exiles home, heal the brokenhearted, and bind up their wounds.
The message reminds us that while God may use friends, pastors, counselors, or loved ones to help us, true healing and restoration ultimately come from the Lord. His restoration reaches every part of our lives—our hearts, relationships, health, finances, emotions, and spiritual walk.
God knows every wound, including those hidden from others. Unlike people, who can only comfort from the outside, He sees the deepest parts of our hearts and heals completely. His healing is so complete that even the scars of past pain lose their power to define us.
The devotion encourages believers to fix their eyes on God instead of relying solely on human help. No matter how far someone has drifted, how many mistakes they have made, or how broken they feel, God is still calling them back. His desire is to restore, heal, and make all things beautiful in His perfect timing.
