Forgiveness is Your Habit
Psalm 130:3-4 MSG
If you, GOD, kept records on wrongdoings, who would stand a chance? As it turns out, forgiveness is your habit, and that’s why you’re worshiped.

The psalmist is confessing the fact that our God has a good habit of forgiving us. The psalmist may have looked at himself and realized that he is someone who continues to do wrong and he wouldn’t stand a chance if God kept record of his wrong doings.
We may look at our past week and decide we haven’t done anything wrong compared to the wrongs we hear people do. But our standard of comparison is small.
God doesn’t see us in comparison to other humans. He sees us in comparison to Himself because that’s how we are made. He didn’t make us in the image of some great well-known person. God made us in His own image. We were intended to be like God, to talk like Him and behave like Him. That is the place from where we have fallen.
Inspect your life from that point and you will realize that unknowingly and knowingly we do many wrong things. We are prone to making mistakes.
Come into His presence. Don’t boast in your self righteousness but acknowledge that if God kept a record of our wrong doing, we would not be able to stand before Him and experience His grace. Thank Him because He is a God who forgives and that’s why we worship Him.
We need God to continue in His habit of forgiveness.
