Withholding Goodness
Listen
Transcript:
DL Moody once said the world is yet to see what God can do through a man that is completely submitted to Him. As we celebrate our spiritual father Pastor Shyju Mathew’s birthday this week, grateful to God for blessing us with a man of God who has set an example for us to follow.
Whenever we have the capability to help somebody who deserves help, we should not withhold from doing so. Usually we think of how others can contribute to us or help our ministry. There are different types of help we can give to people; one can be financial where we give a physical blessing because of a physical need which that person has. In this, we have to be intentional to be generous and when we do so we will see how God will continue to bless us and give us all the resources that we require to live generous.
Another way we can do good for others is to hear a word from the Lord for what they may be going through, intercede on their behalf, share the good news of the gospel and also love them. Sometimes we may say we do not have time or money to give but there can be that one word of encouragement for that brother or sister.
Several times, we may disqualify people by saying we know whatever this person may be given, they may not value it but then once upon a time we were once like that and it was because somebody invested into us by giving something that it looked like we didn’t deserve; this is what Christ did for us. What make the person coming to us for help is not based on what they have done or will do but on what Christ has done for such a person which is what qualifies them to be able to receive help from us.
Praying that there will be an overflow of goodness out of our words, wallet, ministry, relationships and in everything we do.
