Reject Disobedience
Listen
Transcript:
Do not ever underestimate the power of obedience to God. We think that we will obey when it is convenient for us or when we have a reward or a blessing that will manifest immediately. We obey sometimes when we are afraid of the consequences, but the power of our obedience is not always seen in the immediate actions or the consequences that we see right after our obedience.
Saul’s disobedience did not bring an immediate response from God, but generations down the line, nobody wanted to have anything to do with him. In 1 Samuel 15:26, we read Prophet Samuel’s response when Saul disobeyed God. Samuel replied, “I will not go back with you! Since you have rejected the LORD’s command, he has rejected you as king of Israel.” After this response, Saul remained the king for the rest of his life, yet God had rejected Saul as King of Israel.
Sometimes in our perspective, we may still be going on living our normal life doing ministry, serving people, giving to God and worshipping and may think that we are doing the right thing, but in God’s perspective, He has rejected all those things because of disobedience that is plaguing that everything that you are doing.
In this season, we are supposed to intentionally pursue obedience and need to intentionally move away from people who are disobeying God.
When we are in alignment with somebody who is walking and living in disobedience to God, we are also accepting their behaviour. Share on XWhen we see a believer, who is anointed and has the complete revelation of what he is doing, yet he continues to intentionally and persistently sin and live a life of disobedience, we need to know how to withdraw from those people. We need to make sure to draw a boundary around them because now they are hurting the cause of Christ. Now, they are becoming a bad odour in the body of Christ rather than being a fragrance to Jesus.
This is what God is expecting from us today:
1. Try to pursue an intentional life of obedience.
2. Withdraw from people, circumstances and situations where you see that there is constant disobedience and dishonour for what God is speaking.
We need to continue to thank God and be grateful for those people that God has placed in authority both spiritually and politically. We might sometimes find them not suited for the job, and yet as long as they are seated there, we have to learn how to honour them.
Just because God is using someone in the ministry and giving them victories in their life does not become a sign of God’s favour. In fact, Bible says that in the last days, many will come to Jesus and say Lord we healed the sick, cast out demons and raised the dead in His name, but He will tell them to get away from Him because He does not know them at all. Only those who are intentional to pursue and to do the will of His Father in Heaven will enter into the Kingdom of God.
My prayer and hope are that all of us will plug into a lifestyle of obedience and sacrifice. May this become a warning and an instruction in every area of our lives.
Have a blessed and beautiful day ahead.
