But Peter and the apostles replied, “We must obey God rather than any human authority. – Acts 5:29 (NLT)
Transcript:

So often when we pursue our own dreams and desires, we end up in a total mess and in situations and circumstances that don’t bring glory to God but the more we obey God and yield ourselves to him, the more we will be able to spread his fame and his ways to all those that we are meeting on a daily basis. God is calling us to a lifestyle of obedience to His voice in this season. When we obey God, there are people that will be upset with us as in today’s scripture, the Apostles proved to the authorities that they would rather obey God.

In this season let us become diligent students of every voice coming towards us and identify voices contrary to the voice of God. This is possible by spending time with the word of God, praying, studying and meditating on scriptures and walking in the Spirit so that our hearts and minds are filled with the voice of God. When we are filled with the Spirit of God and there is a voice contrary to the Spirit we can easily identify, narrow down and eliminate it out of our lives. It is necessary we first understand what God is speaking, identify every contrary voice and then make a willing and intentional choice to disobey those voices that are forcing us to go against the voice of God.

The more we obey God, the more we will be able to spread His light and grace to those we meet every day. Share on X

It may not be easy to obey God, there will always be a price to pay. People may disconnect, Isolate or Alienate us, but when we are willing to Go the extra mile to do what God has asked us to do we will see unconditional favour come our way and where ever we step we will see divine solutions, breakthroughs and answers. This is the reward for those who walk in and obey the voice of God. The reason we are not seeing the kind of move that the Apostles saw is that we are too afraid to obey God and we are sometimes comfortable in our own opinions and social setups and we don’t want to ruffle any feathers. In this season, if we take a step of faith and walk out, choose to obey God we will see the blessing and favour of God vindicate our choice and decision no matter how hard it may be. Praying that this encourages us to live a life of obedience and may the obedience Peter and the apostles showed become our practice and lifestyle.
