To bring Queen Vashti to him with the royal crown on her head. He wanted the nobles and all the other men to gaze on her beauty, for she was a very beautiful woman. – Esther 1:11 NLT

Transcript:

Welcome to this new day. Let us enjoy the love and mercy of the Lord Jesus. Because of the Love of Jesus for us, we are not destroyed and are continually sustained and taken from grace to grace & glory to glory in every season of our lives. In today’s scripture, we see how the king wanted Esther to be brought, which was a sign of her identity and relationship with the king. And this intention was to show off her beauty and identity as the queen of this great empire. His intention for Vashti was to also bless and honour her before his guests, but because she did not trust in the goodness and intentions of the king, she refused to come out even after knowing this is a commandment from the king.

So often this is true of our lives. The Lord will command us and tell us to do certain things and we evaluate these instructions and then feel that some of these instructions are not for our good and sometimes we doubt Gods heart and whether He understands what we are going through. Because of our doubt, insecurity and fear, we end disobeying God. It is not because we are rebellious but we don’t always trust what God is doing and that is why we end up disobeying God. Like the scenario with Queen Vashti, she had to be replaced and moved from that position. We need to ask the Lord for grace to understand and trust his Goodness, plans and purposes for our lives. The more we look into ourselves for the answers, the more we will fail. The more we look to the people around us or the circumstances around us for answers, the more we will fail. But the more we learn to look at the love and grace that the Lord has poured out upon us, the easier it will be for us to submit to the instructions that He has given us.

We have to understand that it is not only the physical tangible blessing that we receive in our lives that are a blessing but even when He tells us to do something, those instructions are a blessing in our lives. Like we have learnt today, not every disobedience is because of rebellion, Some disobedience happens because we don’t trust the good plans of God in our lives. Today we need to surrender our understanding of what is Good and bad for us.

The reason for our disobedience is because we do not understand and trust the goodness of God. Share on X

Prayer: Dear Jesus reveal your heart and plans and purposes to us in a measure that we will have undeniable proof of your kindness and Goodness and plans for our lives. We yield ourselves and submit to you and your will in Jesus name we pray. Amen!
