True Prosperity
Listen
If one thinks they are not blessed or prospering or growing in every aspect of their lives, it’s because they are not able to see what God is doing in their lives. Sometimes God works in ways one cannot see or understand. If one trusts the process God is taking them through, they will see the hand of the Lord working in each and every aspect of their lives.
There was one season in Job’s life when everything that he had was taken away from him and he was very confused. He didn’t have a Bible or a prophet or a pastor to go to; he just had his friends whose understanding of God was incomplete. Job was a man who walked with God and had prosperity from God making him the richest person on the planet. All of a sudden a storm hit and he lost everything. In this time, Job processes everything he goes through and compares it to other people who had experienced similar things.
In Job 21:16, Job says, They think their prosperity is of their own doing, but I will have nothing to do with that kind of thinking. He talks about a community that thinks that prosperity happens by itself or by their handwork or by luck or chance, etc. Job didn’t even have answers to why he lost his money or family, yet he chose to hold the understanding that his prosperity comes from the blessings of God. So he evaluated his walk with God and his purity to see if he has done something wrong and couldn’t find why God would allow this season in his life, yet he held on to his belief that his prosperity comes from God and not his own doing.
Each one of us has our own share of blessings and struggles but our prosperity doesn’t come because of our hard work. One should work hard, serve where they are placed and do their own part but should keep in mind that their prosperity is not their own doing. We should acknowledge that God is the source of our blessing.
True Prosperity Share on XWhen the Israelites came into the land of Cannan, God gave them a warning that He was going to bless them and make them prosper but they need to be careful that in their prosperity they don’t think to themselves that they got all of the wealth because of their own abilities and strength and in the phase of being content and satisfied, not forget Who blessed them.
We need to remember that without God’s hand, our prosperity is absolutely vain. His favour and presence in our lives is the highest level of prosperity. We should surrender our hearts to the Lord and say like Job did that we won’t have anything to do with that kind of people or thinking.
