Offer Myself
Listen
The more one allows himself/ herself to encounter the Lord and pursue His presence, the more he/ she will grow in worship. When a person constantly grows in worship it is a sign of him/ her encountering the Lord constantly. When one’s worship dries up, it means they have not been constantly enjoying His presence or having a revelation of Who God is.
The Psalmist writes a prayer to the Lord and as a result of God showing up and providing, delivering and helping him in his time of need, he says the following:
Psalm 54:6 – I will sacrifice a voluntary offering to you; I will praise your name, O Lord, for it is good.
Every time one has a testimony of what God is doing in his/ her life, it is not just a story of something good happening but also a revelation of the goodness, mercy and grace of God that is available for His children when they are struggling. The Psalmist recognizes that and says he would sacrifice a voluntary offering. It was not a forced offering or something he was persuaded by someone to give to God, or something that the pastors had to remind him; this came voluntarily. It was a free-will sacrifice. Another translation says that he was offering himself freely.
Is this your state today? Are you willing to allow giving to the Lord to rise above your money, time, resources and people? Are you willing to give yourself a 100%; all that you have and all that you are as a voluntary offering to the Lord? I hope that what the Lord has done for you in the last season is worth giving yourself to God.
Whenever one sees the revelation of God, a characteristic of God, a move of God, it is in fact a revelation or the outworking of one of the names of God. That is why the Psalmist says that he was going to praise His name.
Today my hope is that each and every one of you would have a revelation of each and every name of the Lord that is revealed in the scriptures.
Will you praise the Lord for His beautiful, glorious and powerful name? The Psalmist says he would praise His name for it is good. It is an admirable thing for you and me to praise God’s name. I hope that this will be your lifestyle. We are at the end of this week. Thank the Lord for everything that He has done for you throughout this week; for His protection over your family, for His provisions in your marriage and your children’s lives and parent’s health, His provisions in bringing spiritual food to you, etc. Thank the Lord and give yourselves up as a voluntary offering unto the Lord.
