See and Shout

“Meanwhile, the Lord said to me, “Put a watchman on the city wall. Let him shout out what he sees.” – Isaiah 21:6 NLT

Transcript: Series: The Book of Isaiah When God gives us a new week or season it is very necessary to begin with prayer and be alert. Jesus said to the disciples to ‘watch and pray so that you will not fall into temptations.’ Every time we watch and pray, we will come out victorious in our battles. During the battles in the olden days, if there is a threat of the enemy, they would have this huge watchtower and they would put a watchman on these walls. The roles of these watchman: – he is not with the rest of the crowd – he doesn’t care what is going on in the city – he doesn’t think about how this job will be beneficial for him – he looks out for any signs of the enemy – he is all by himself Being a watchman may not be greatly honoured but still that is the most strategic jobs in a war. From Isaiah 21:6 verse, the watchman is expected to do few things; – he needs to see (be awake, be alert, be active) – whatever he see he needs to turn towards the city and shout. Your calling as a prayer warrior is to – stand tall and high above the rest of the things that is happening. Only the watchman can see whats happening in the spiritual realm and shout it out to the people so that they will be warned and take the right direction in their lives. Stand guard, remain alert, watch and pray, and God will guard your steps.

Psalm 147:2–3 reveals God's heart as a Restorer rather than a Punisher. Although Israel went into exile because of its own rebellion, God did not abandon His people. Instead, He promised to restore Jerusalem, bring the exiles home, heal the brokenhearted, and bind up their wounds.

The message reminds us that while God may use friends, pastors, counselors, or loved ones to help us, true healing and restoration ultimately come from the Lord. His restoration reaches every part of our lives—our hearts, relationships, health, finances, emotions, and spiritual walk.

God knows every wound, including those hidden from others. Unlike people, who can only comfort from the outside, He sees the deepest parts of our hearts and heals completely. His healing is so complete that even the scars of past pain lose their power to define us.

The devotion encourages believers to fix their eyes on God instead of relying solely on human help. No matter how far someone has drifted, how many mistakes they have made, or how broken they feel, God is still calling them back. His desire is to restore, heal, and make all things beautiful in His perfect timing.
