Greetings in Jesus’ name.

When we trust the provision of God, there will never be a need that will go unmet.

Leviticus 25:6 – “But you may eat whatever the land produces on its own during its Sabbath. This applies to you, your male and female servants, your hired workers, and the temporary residents who live with you.”

In the old testament, when God gave ordinances, it had to be fulfilled in multiple levels. There was a Sabbath, that would come every week, and, there was another one that would come every seventh year.

In the former, all were supposed to take complete rest, from their hard work and enjoy the goodness, favour and grace of God, in the comfort of their homes.

Similarly in the latter, they were supposed to give rest to the land every seven years, for an entire year. The Bible says, they could eat whatever the land produced on its own in the seventh year, as they entered a period of rest and could enjoy the fruits, without labour.

In new testament, Jesus brought us into the dispensation of the Sabbath. We have entered into the rest of the Lord.

Jesus tells us that we have a Father in heaven who is providing for us.

In new testament, we live in the season of sabbath, we live in a state of rest. We do not have to labor to have favor with God. We can be at rest and our Father in heaven will provide for us.

Jesus gives examples of provision from God by asking, have you seen the birds of the sky work hard? Do they labour so that they can eat? What about the lilies of the field? Do they toil? The season of rest or Sabbath comes only, once in a while in the Old Testament. But, in the New Testament, we live in the season of Sabbath, everyday.

In Hebrews 4, the apostle is telling us that through Christ we have entered into rest. We have entered into the rest that Christ has purchased for us because of our faith in Christ Jesus.

I declare to the land that God has given you, ministries, families; let it bring forth fruit, provision without you having to labor for it.

This is what Adam and Eve did in the garden of Eden. We need to understand that they were not lazy. They had to tend, watch and keep the garden. And still there was no sweating or toil involved. IT was not hard work in terms of labor and struggle. There were no loss and hurt in terms of tending the garden.

This is the lifestyle that God is calling us into. Will we still go to work and be active in ministry? Yes, but without having to struggle to do any of these things.

This is the Sabbath that the Lord has blessed us with.

Let’s pray: Father, we acknowledge the Jehovah Jireh that you are. We acknowledge your provision in your life and today we yield to your Sabbath season in our life. We believe Lord that the land, homes, properties, ministries that you have blessed us with will produce fruit on its own and we will be good stewards of it. We will not have to struggle, we will not have to sweat, hurt in the process of making money. It will come easy in Jesus mighty name.
