Good morning and greetings in Jesus’ name. Welcome to this amazing brand new morning.
The more we walk with Him, the more His character becomes ours, the more His love becomes ours. His grace begins to flow through our lives.
“The eyes of the arrogant will be humbled and human pride brought low; the LORD alone will be exalted in that day.” – Isaiah 2:11 (NIV)
Here the passage is talking of idolaters that cling to things that their hands have made. They are proud of their accomplishments and are congratulating themselves of it. The Bible says they have arrogant eyes that look down on those who have not accomplished things like they have. They think that they’re doing God a favour by giving some money to God or by working for Him. There is an arrogance in every aspect of their life.
The Bible says such people will be humbled. There will be a day when every one who has looked down upon others will be humbled.
On this side of eternity there may be times where injustice seems to prevail for a while. When you are mistreated, looked down upon, faced with false accusations, facing condemning voices, it looks like they are winning, it seems like the enemy has the upper hand!
But the Bible says there will come a day when the eyes of the arrogant people will be humbled. Those who point their fingers at you because you are a child of God are fighting against fire. One day they will be humbled.
You need to believe God. You can’t go and fight for yourself. You can stay back. On that day, God alone will be honoured.
The second category of people are the high and mighty. They will also be brought down. In every sphere of life including the church, there are people who see themselves as high and mighty, as undefeatable, unconquerable, unachievable. They think that no one’s like them.
But the Bible says there is an end to all of that. All those mighty people will be brought down.
That day the only thing standing will be what the Lord has done. The Lord alone will be honoured. Even men of God who are spiritually high, soul winners, evangelists, on that day will be brought down, but the Name of the Lord will be honoured.
We will not glorify a man in heaven. We will be glorifying Jesus. We will be lifting Him up. There is only one Person Who is worthy of all worship all glory, all honour, adoration, and praise. In heaven there is a constant giving of glory, and there will be only One receiving all that- Jesus, Who is seated on the throne, the Lamb that was slain. He alone is the One Who is worthy. At His presence, all the mighty people will be brought down.
In the story of the rich man and Lazarus, the rich man thought he was high and mighty, but eventually he was brought down. However Lazarus who had nothing in his life was elevated.
Put your trust in God and cling to Him and not your own achievements. He will elevate you. Share on X
Those who have considered themselves high and mighty will be brought down.
