Good morning and greetings in Jesus’ name.
This morning I would like to like to inform you, my dear friend that the Lord has seen your faithfulness, he has seen how committed and loyal you are, and as a result of that, the Lord has ordained for certain individuals that are responsible for your life to labor for you, to not go to sleep until you find your rest, your breakthrough, until you find your blessing.
In Ruth3:1 says, “Then Naomi her mother-in-law said unto her, ‘My daughter, shall I not seek rest for thee, that it may be well with you.’”
Naomi was really blessed with the response that Ruth gave when Naomi was going to Bethlehem. Ruth said that she was going to be with her no matter whatever happened, whatever difficulty or challenge there might be. She committed to stick with her and remain loyal to her and that commitment that Ruth made, brought a certain sense of burden and responsibility to seek the welfare of Ruth. If Ruth’s commitment to Naomi was flickering, then Naomi didn’t have to be burdened about Ruth, but her commitment to Naomi was so ferocious, steadfast and consistent that Naomi decided she did not want to rest till Ruth was at rest.
So, she told Ruth, “My daughter, shouldn’t I seek your welfare? Shouldn’t I look for you to be blessed? Shouldn’t I work hard for you to experience a season and a phase of rest that will come upon your life.” Ruth had a tragic life, her husband passed away, she was now here in Bethlehem, a land that was not her own and she is serving her mother-in-law, without a day of rest as she needed to be active and serving, working hard all the time. She must’ve thought nobody thinks for her, nobody can fight for her or bless her, but there was a commitment and loyalty that began to speak and fight for her and make a way for her in the heart of her mother-in-law till she could bring a solution to Ruth.
I hope that the way that you serve your leaders, parents, the way you serve those that are responsible for your life, will cause them to be so moved that they will want to bless you. In the old testament we see how Esau was expected to serve his father in such a manner that he would be so happy, out of his heart, his content, his happiness, out of that contentment, satisfaction, he blessed Esau and you know how the story went , the blessing went to Jacob instead of Esau and that blessing was enough to make him into a big nation, into an Israel, a father of 12 tribes of Israel.
Sometimes, we underestimate the blessing and the provision of our leaders. We just think God is there for me, will help and bless me, but we undermine the position given to our leaders.
In the Old Testament when the Lord gave the commandments to the leaders, God told them, to honor their father and mother, because that would cause them to live long in the land and have long life. Your honour to your parents could bring long life to you on the earth. Ruth could have definitely made her own living and done her own life without Naomi’s help, but because of her decision to bring her entire life under a covenant relationship Naomi, now Naomi was rising up to fight, pray and rising up to pray for her, to become a blessing to her.
If you read the previous chapters, this is not something Naomi planned. All that Naomi wanted to do was get rid of her daughters, go back to Bethlehem, without any baggage or extra responsibility and just live the last days of her widowhood. In other words, though Naomi didn’t plan and prepare to bless and provide for Ruth, Ruth’s loyalty enforced a responsibility on Naomi and it caused her to become a woman of great faith, purpose and caused her to have her own destiny in the land of Bethlehem in spite of her having given up everything.
Sometimes, your commitment and loyalty is not just for your benefit to the ones that you’re committed to, the ones you are submitted to.
It is true that some of our biological parents have gone through a lot in their life, causing them to become bitter or hurt or extremely cold to things of God, but can it be due to your commitment to love, serve and be loyal to them, they can be enforced to carry a grace to become a blessing to you, they can be enforced to become a blessing to God that can be transferred to your generations. They will be enforced to pray, to seek and go after God with a ferocity like never before. May this word speak to you and bring life into your situations.
PRAYER:
Father, we thank you for your word. Thank you for speaking to me and each of us. We pray that we today, we will rise in our loyalty, commitment and our relationship with those now responsible for us, those leading and guiding us. We thank you for speaking to us, in Jesus’ name.
