Serve Without Honor

Good morning and greetings in Jesus name. Welcome to this amazing and beautiful new day.
Today the Lord is raising some of us into strategic places of influences. The Lord wants us to have Dominion and He wants us to exercise authority. He wants us to be the people that will have the final say in every environment. The Lord has placed some of us in secular work environments, academic environments, creative arts, others might be in church ministry or some kind of charitable work. It doesn’t matter where the Lord has given us influence. It is necessary we use that influence for the glory of God and we exercise dominion wherever the Lord has placed us. And yet, the way we exercise dominion isn’t the way the World does it. The people of the World love to show off that they have authority, and that they are superior and greater to someone else. But that is not how we will have Dominion and how we will exercise our authority. Jesus taught this to us through his own example. And then he explained it to us in Luke chapter 22: 26.
But this is not your calling …..The way we exercise leadership cannot be the same way the world does it. And so it says that is not your calling. Your calling is to lead by a different model. Jesus explained them …the greatest one among you will live as one called to serve. Which means even when there aren’t any appreciation, promotions or blessings, you will live like you are called to serve others. That is how we will have Dominion, in the environment where God has placed us. It is very easy to scream a hallelujah and shout amen when the pastor declares that this is dominion. But the path to such dominion is through a lifestyle of humility, through a lifestyle of preferring someone else, a lifestyle of becoming a servant to other people even when you feel this person is not as spiritual as you are. Even when you understand that you are placed to lead them, you intentionally humble yourself before them and become a servant to them and a servant without honor.
Anybody can serve when there is honor and celebration, constant praises. But show me a man or woman that serves, helps and ministers even when there is no honor, help, appreciation and I will show you a leader like Jesus.
Honor is a very essential commodity in the kingdom of God. We aren’t undervaluing honor. Wherever He did not receive honor, He didn’t manifest the God side and the prophet side of Him. He didn’t manifest the signs and wonders, but he still served even in those environments. He still helped and became a servant to them. That is why you would see Jesus at the last supper, he sat washing the feet of each of his disciples. This is something that the disciples would have thought of their mark of honor and respect and their willingness to serve their master. But somewhere down the line because of their familiarity with their master, they stopped their service to their master. What did the master do? He humbled itself and set an example to them by washing each and everyone of their feet. He served them even when there was no honor. He still led them by example. I Believe that some of us will be given the opportunity to serve in our homes, workplaces, church environments. Look for those places where you are not really honored and appreciated as much. It could be God wants to set you up as an example to serve and how to build others up, even when there is no honor. Jesus goes on to explain the greatest honor and authority is reserved for the one who is the most humble and has a servant heart. His identity is not that he is a servant, instead he is the Son of the most high God. He is a beloved of the Father. His identity is that he is an anointed man of God
There may be honor and authority that you will experience even when you don’t have humility. There may be open doors and blessings even when you do not have a servant’s heart. But the greatest honor is for that one who has a servant heart. So this morning we are receiving this impartation to walk as a servant wherever we go. People should testify that this guy has the heart of a servant.
Let’s pray. Thank you father for speaking to us this morning. And we thank you that in the scripture it’s is hidden the grace and the understanding to walk like Jesus. There are going to be times and places where we don’t receive honor but we still want to walk With a servant’s heart. So we humble ourselves. We lay down our pride and we give up our ego. Every self respect that we demand we lay it all down on the altar. Give us the grace to serve even without honor. We give you the praise.
In Jesus name. Amen
