The Scattering of Seed

Good morning and greetings in Jesus’ name. Everything that God is doing in our life, he always reveals to us in different methods. Sometimes he would speak to us in dreams, sermons, or in hidden parables, and it is up to us to understand and grasp what God is trying to do in our life. Sometimes, even when we don’t understand, we have to learn to believe it. Because, by believing, we will now be aligned to what God is trying to do in our life.

Mark 4: 26 – “The kingdom of God is like a farmer who scatters seed on the ground. Night and day while he is asleep, or when he’s awake, the seed sprouts and grows. But he does not understand how it happens. The earth produces the crops on its own. First, a leaf blade pushes through, then the heads of wheat are formed and finally the grain ripens. As soon as the grain is ready, the farmer comes and harvests it with a sickle for the harvest time has come.”

The Lord is giving us a parable, so we get to understand how this whole system of harvest takes place. The Bible says, the only effort that is necessary is to sow seeds. The farmer has to scatter seeds throughout the season of sowing. His duty is not to push the plant out of the ground, or to make sure that the leaves are long enough or the fruit is perfect. His duty is to make sure that the seed is sown in the right season. And then the bible says, even when he’s asleep, even when he’s awake, night or day, this plant, this seed, this tree is constantly growing and there is constant change and improvement.

Now, most of it, the farmer himself doesn’t understand how it works. He doesn’t have a revelation of all the biology or botany behind the plant becoming what it ought to become. Yet, even though he doesn’t understand, he still continues to sow and put efforts, still continues to put his investment in the right places. And, he will only return when the harvest is prepared and ready, and he will come with a sickle to take the harvest back home.

The Bible says, the earth produces the crops on its own. First, a leaf blade pushes through, then the heads of the wheat are formed and finally the grain ripens. So, there is an automatic procedure for producing fruit/result/solutions or producing healing/restoration that God has already put into place. Many of us may need a healing, some may need solutions, some others, answers to our questions. All that God is looking for us to do is to constantly sow seeds, to continue to scatter the seeds day and night, and just go about doing our work. We may be awake or asleep, but the earth will constantly keep producing fruit wherever we sow a seed, wherever we’ve been generous in sowing, the earth will begin to start sprouting up a plant, a result, a solution or an answer. Now, we don’t have to understand how every single seed will sprout up. We don’t even have to understand “why didn’t some of the seeds work, or why didn’t some of the seeds work”?

A Farmer’s job is not to try and contemplate on all the botanical aspects behind this seed being sprouted. His job is to make sure that he sows the seed, and his job is to make sure he’s ready with a sickle when the harvest is about to come. If we are faced with a problem in relationships, start investing into relationships. If we have challenges in our career, start investing into someone else’s career, start helping someone else. If we’re struggling in our marriage, start investing into someone else’s marriage, just bless other people. If we’re struggling with our health, start praying for other people who need a healing in their body, start serving them; just become radical and generous in sowing seeds.

We don’t have to understand how/when/where our life will begin to change. Because, the earth produces on its own, and God has put a system of sowing and reaping in the nature around us. So, the earth will automatically begin to bring us, our solutions, our answers, our blessings, our provisions. The prayers that we have been praying, the desires and the dreams that we’ve been harbouring, the Lord will make a way! The earth, the environment that we live in, will automatically begin to provide a solution and an answer to those prayers. Please remember, this year we are about to inherit our promised land. And, it will happen when we are diligent, persistent and consistent, when we are intentional to sow seeds in all seasons. So, get ready for a harvest, because the Lord is about to do a mighty work for us.
