Brink of the Kingdom

Ephesians 5:5 (NLT)
You can be sure that no immoral, impure, or greedy person will inherit the Kingdom of Christ and of God. For a greedy person is an idolater, worshiping the things of this world.

In this episode of Another Day with Jesus, Apostle Priji welcomes you into a new day with a call to examine your heart and the lifestyle you are pursuing. Drawing from Ephesians 5:5, he reminds you that the Christian life is not merely about a confession of faith but about allowing your identity in Christ to shape your daily choices and character.

The message highlights three dangers every believer must guard against: immorality, impurity, and greed. While these may have marked your life before encountering Christ, they should no longer define who you are. Through the work of Jesus and the help of the Holy Spirit, you have been given a new identity and a new way of living.

A particular emphasis is placed on greed, which Scripture identifies as a form of idolatry. Idolatry is not limited to physical idols; it can also occur when possessions, ambitions, pleasures, or personal desires receive the attention, affection, and priority that belong to God alone. Anything that takes His place in your heart can become an object of worship.

You are reminded that living in a fallen world means facing continual temptation and influence. However, the goal is not merely to avoid outward sin but to consistently allow the Holy Spirit to reveal hidden areas of compromise. Regular self-examination, humility, and dependence on God help prevent old habits and attitudes from becoming part of your identity again.

The episode also stresses the connection between identity and destiny. A life that continually embraces immorality, impurity, or greed stands in contrast to the Kingdom life Christ has called you to inherit. Therefore, believers are encouraged to align their words, actions, relationships, and priorities with the reality of who they are in Christ.

As you go through your day, take time to invite the Holy Spirit to search your heart. Ask Him to expose anything that competes with your devotion to God and to strengthen you to walk in purity, integrity, and wholehearted worship. May you live not according to the values of this world, but according to the Kingdom of God, reflecting the new identity you have received through Christ.
