Many believers today are living like slaves in the promised land.
However, Ephesians 1:3 (NKJV) says, Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ.
It clearly says in this verse that He has blessed us with every spiritual blessings, but why do we not enjoy those blessings?
As in Nehemiah 9:36 (NLT), So now today we are slaves in the land of plenty that you gave our ancestors for their enjoyment! We are slaves here in this good land.
What are the reasons for us to be slaves in the promised land?
1) And you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.
– John 8:32 (NLT)
There are so many promises in the Bible, but many of us choose not to study the Word and believe in and claim those promises, and in return be slaves. We are enslaved by our lack of knowledge and faith.
2) Unforgiveness
Then Peter came to him and asked, “Lord, how often should I forgive someone who sins against me? Seven times?” “No, not seven times,” Jesus replied, “but seventy times seven!
– Matthew 18:21,22 (NLT)
Unforgiveness keeps us in bondage. When we forgive, we are free from sickness, poverty and other bondages. Forgiveness is an action of love. Let us love everyone as how Jesus loved us.
3) Unbelief
Jesus said to him, “If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes.”
– Mark 9:23 (NKJV)
The reason many a times we fail is because of unbelief. All we need is faith as big as a mustard seed to come out of our bondages.
4) Wrong Confession
A man’s stomach shall be satisfied from the fruit of his mouth; from the produce of his lips he shall be filled. Death and life are in the power of the tongue, And those who love it will eat its fruit.
– Proverbs 18:20,21 (NKJV)
The choice is ours. Wrong confession will keep us slaves in the promised land. Jesus is all we need. Let us desire Him alone and confess that.
Are you a slave in the promised land because of any of these reasons?
Just believe that “whom the Son sets free is free indeed”. Start enjoying your blessings in the promised land!
