Acknowledge Guilt
Listen
Let’s look at the Lord for fresh instructions and understanding as to how we need to rearrange our lives.
The above verse is a prayer that was prayed by Solomon at the dedication of the temple he had built for the honour of God.
Solomon’s prayer was that when His people sinned and the skies are shut, that God would listen to the prayers coming from His people from the temple.
If we have been seeing closed doors or lack of rain in our lives, then we need to ask God to expose any unacknowledged sin that may be in our lives. If we acknowledge our sins and turn to His name, then God will hear us from heaven and forgive the sins of His servants.
The issue with many of us New Testament Christians is that we think just because Jesus died on the cross for our sins, that we don’t need to repent and things would automatically fall into place.
If there are things we haven’t exposed, we need to lay those things down for subjection in the presence of God.
If we do so, God is going to hear us from heaven and forgive the sins we’ve committed.
God’s love is unconditional, God loves believers and unbelievers, but only if we acknowledge our sins would He forgive us.
Forgiveness isn’t on the basis of being a believer but on our willingness to turn from our sins and acknowledge His name. Share on XSolomon goes on to pray that once God has forgiven His people, to teach them to follow the right path.
We must be the same way, not just seeking forgiveness and being on our way, but further also seeking understanding. We need to be taught how to follow the right path and then God will send rain onto our lives.
We need to follow these steps as we pray for rain:
Acknowledge our guilt – acknowledge His name – turn from our sinful ways – be taught by God to follow the right path – receive the rain God will send over usGet This Episode
