Greetings in Jesus’ name.
What it would take to experience Jesus afresh this morning? What would it take for His bride to continue to reman in His love?
“..your anointing oils are fragrant, your name is perfume poured out; therefore the maidens love you.” – Song of Solomon 1:3 NRSV
This is a Jewish wedding song that the bride is singing to her groom. Every bridegroom will spend time preparing themselves; emotionally, financially and also physically. One of the things they would do is to anoint themselves with different oils; oils that are meant to heal, restore, beautify. These oil, each one of them will have a particular fragrance. And the bride is able to smell this fragrance.
As a church of Jesus Christ, we need to be sensitive to the the presence of Jesus, we need to know and be sensitive to His presence. We cannot be insensitive to His fragrance.
Jesus explains to us about the role of the Holy Spirit in John chapter 14, 15 and 16. He tells us that the Holy Spirit reminds us of Jesus, His word to be brought forth in our hearts gain and again. Just like fragrant oil leaves a memory of it in our brains, similarly when the Holy Spirit is poured onto us, He will direct us to Jesus, He will be Jesus’ fragrant oil in our midst.
Today, may our desire and our pursuit of God’s presence be found in the fragrance of the Holy Spirit. Let the Holy Spirit be the reason for your love to be quickened and accelerated.
First is the presence of the Holy Spirit. Second is the name of the bridegroom. She says that His name is poured in abundance. When we use the name of Jesus, we invoke a revelation of who God is and it is not possible to call on the name of the Lord and His presence to not come!
Today if we need to be reignited, first we need to pray for the presence of Holy Spirit to become real, tangible on a daily basis and second the revelation of the name of the Lord to become real and tangible.
When we do this, we automatically fall in love with Jesus.
