Insult His Image
Sometimes it praises our Lord and Father, and sometimes it curses those who have been made in the image of God. And so blessing and cursing come pouring out of the same mouth. Surely, my brothers and sisters, this is not right!
James 3:9-10 NLT

Transcript:
Here is Apostle James giving us a profound instruction. He asks us to look at our words and conversations. At one point we speak praises, glory and honor to God and at the same time we release curses and negativity with the same tongue.
In doing so we are blessing and cursing from the same tongue and heart, which is a problem and has to be brought to light.
We have to guard our words. Our words have to bring glory to God. We need to put a filter around our mouth and keep a check on what’s coming out of our mouth.
When we make this our lifestyle can you imagine how righteous our lifestyle will be?
This also requires an elevation of perspective.
We see God as glorious and holy and we see people who are rejected and broken but it doesn’t mean that they are not made in the image of God. When we remember this it will be much easier for us to treat people well knowing that they are created and purposed by God.
And when it comes to people who are mistreating you and dishonouring you, we can always correct and convey our concern in a rightful way instead of cursing them.
I pray that this podcast will help you change for the better. May our tongue be only meant for worship and blessing.
Blessings!
