Series: Increase of Faith

We think that when trials come it reduces our faith and that it’s meant to destroy our walk with God. In the above verse, Peter says that just like fire purifies gold and takes all the impurities out of it, in the same way, trials, temptations, problems and worries are a test to our faith.

• Every time we depend on God and continue to put our faith into words and actions our faith continues to grow even more stronger.
• When God sees that our faith is genuine, He puts His entire life behind us. God put His name and entire reputation at stake when He allowed His servant Job to be put to test. He knew the faith that Job carried was not any ordinary faith and He knew that he would continue to grow stronger no matter what kind of tests and trials were brought his way.
• It doesn’t matter how crazy our trials are, doesn’t matter how bad our situations look today, even if some of our relationships are being broken for life or some of our pain is becoming a lifetime wound.
• Take it back to Jesus and tell Him that you will not lose this opportunity to increase your faith. Instead, trust Him even more till you see your faith level increase even in the midst of the fire, just like gold gets tested for how good it is through fire.
• We have read that without faith it is impossible to please God. The opposite is also true – With faith it is possible to please God, especially faith in the midst of trials and testing.

May the Lord send trials in our life that take our faith and prayer life to the next level and make our trust in God precise and unshakable through this entire season.
