Series: Submitting to Elders
Church is a very important place to go. We need to make it a point to fellowship with the church atleast once a week. God has placed some people in church who are pastors, leaders, elders who are placed over your life to teach you God’s word.

The bible commands us to exclusively commit yourself to them and accept their authority over your life though not making them you god.
The more you commit yourself to them, the more they will bless and help you and make you walk with God very intensely that you will be able to experience the fullness of the call of God over your life.

In 1 Peter 5:5, the bible says, “In the same way, you who areyounger must accept the authority of the elders. And all of you, dress yourselves in humilityas you relate to one another, for “Godopposes the proud butgives graceto thehumble.””

Everybody that is younger should accept the authority of the elders. Bible doesn’t necessarily speak elder in terms of age. It’s based upon the spiritual qualities that the person possess. They are the leaders who are committed to lead, train and disciple the church.

Submit to their authority means that you should be accountable to them and receive their advice. Look for the opinion of the elders for any area of your life and let them speak God’s voice over everything that you are doing in your life.

The bible tells us that the reason we need to submit to the authority is so that God can train us in the ways of humility. Submission is sometimes difficult to do. It requires a lot of humility.

The kingdom of God is made of those who humble themselves. The bible says that Jesus humbled Himself, even to the point of death. When we humble ourselves, God knows how to lift you up.

Bible says God gives grace to the humble and opposes the proud. If you need grace in any area of your life that you are struggling, then submit to your leaders.
