Anger, Wrath & Jealousy
Proverbs 27:4 NLT
Anger is cruel, and wrath is like a flood, but jealousy is even more dangerous.
God loves us so much that He deeply wants to be involved in our lives. So often we think that God puts rules and regulations to restrict our life, which is not true, the truth is that He wants to eliminate every object or perspective that we have in our heart that stops Him from communing with us.
What are the things that stops Him from communing with us?
Sometimes it is our sinful lifestyle or habits that stops Him from talking to us. The Lord wants to work on our character.
In Proverbs, 27, verse 4, there are three character faults that are mentioned:
– anger
– wrath
– jealousy
All of these three characteristics can be attributed to God at some point or the other which is mentioned in the bible and yet in the book of proverbs it says anger is cruel, wrath is like a flood, and jealousy is dangerous, but God isn’t any of these because God’s anger/wrath/jealousy is just and righteous.
God is asking us to watch your heart so that your anger doesn’t become cruelty over someone else.
The power of the Holy Spirit which is the river of God is more powerful than the worst kind of anger that you have, let your heart sink in the river of the Holy Spirit, then your wrath will get washed away.
And, about jealousy the bible says its even more dangerous. It can cause major havoc. The primary reason Lucifer fell was because of jealousy which was rooted in pride.
These are three characteristics which we need to watch out for.
– How much of anger is there in your heart?
– How much of wrath do you give into?
– How often in a day do you get jealous?
Will you check your heart today and actively work on overcoming these issues?
Prayer:
Father, I pray for everyone listening this morning, I agree and I accept that none of us are perfect. We all have our failures sand moments where we don’t look like You and yet this morning we want to surrender our anger, wrath and jealousy at Your feet and we ask You to come and wash over us and make us new Lord and make us like a baby, like child in Your arms, make us a new creation so that our old can be wiped away and everything can become new. You are a God who is expert in doing that, in giving us breakthroughs after breakthroughs and victories after victories and we yield to Your victory today, in Jesus’ mighty name we pray. Amen.

Psalm 147:2–3 reveals God's heart as a Restorer rather than a Punisher. Although Israel went into exile because of its own rebellion, God did not abandon His people. Instead, He promised to restore Jerusalem, bring the exiles home, heal the brokenhearted, and bind up their wounds.
The message reminds us that while God may use friends, pastors, counselors, or loved ones to help us, true healing and restoration ultimately come from the Lord. His restoration reaches every part of our lives—our hearts, relationships, health, finances, emotions, and spiritual walk.
God knows every wound, including those hidden from others. Unlike people, who can only comfort from the outside, He sees the deepest parts of our hearts and heals completely. His healing is so complete that even the scars of past pain lose their power to define us.
The devotion encourages believers to fix their eyes on God instead of relying solely on human help. No matter how far someone has drifted, how many mistakes they have made, or how broken they feel, God is still calling them back. His desire is to restore, heal, and make all things beautiful in His perfect timing.
