Isaiah 14:13 NLT
“For you said to yourself, ‘I will ascend to heaven and set my throne above God’s stars. I will preside on the mountain of the gods far away in the north.”
Series: The Book of Isaiah
Every single time when we come to God and ask Him for a word, He is faithful enough to speak to us, but the greatest cause for fall is when we try to be proud of who we are.
The only boasting that bible talks about is boasting in the Lord.
Isaiah 14:13 probably talks about the conversation that the devil had to himself. The sad thing being is even christians, many anointed people of God has spoken this to themselves.
It’s one thing if God promotes you, He will definitely lift you up in His ways, but if you promote yourself, you will become a laughing stock like the people who tried to build the tower of Babel and there will be confusion.
God’s desire for you is to become great, that you will be lifted up and you become famous, rich, healthy and happy, but when you try to ascend to that place by yourself, its a failure because you will be doing it from a place of pride and not from a place of surrender.
The bible is very clear. It says “he who wants to be the greatest among you should be the least..”
If you do good so that people should see, the reward you get will be only for that moment, but if you do whatever you were doing in secret without elevating yourself, then the Lord who sees in you secret will lift you and elevate you and take you to the next level. He will honour and bless you before everybody.
If you lay down and sacrifice yourself without elevating yourself, you will be following Jesus.
Psalm 147:2–3 reveals God's heart as a Restorer rather than a Punisher. Although Israel went into exile because of its own rebellion, God did not abandon His people. Instead, He promised to restore Jerusalem, bring the exiles home, heal the brokenhearted, and bind up their wounds.
The message reminds us that while God may use friends, pastors, counselors, or loved ones to help us, true healing and restoration ultimately come from the Lord. His restoration reaches every part of our lives—our hearts, relationships, health, finances, emotions, and spiritual walk.
God knows every wound, including those hidden from others. Unlike people, who can only comfort from the outside, He sees the deepest parts of our hearts and heals completely. His healing is so complete that even the scars of past pain lose their power to define us.
The devotion encourages believers to fix their eyes on God instead of relying solely on human help. No matter how far someone has drifted, how many mistakes they have made, or how broken they feel, God is still calling them back. His desire is to restore, heal, and make all things beautiful in His perfect timing.
