Continue to Follow
And now, just as you accepted Christ Jesus as your Lord, you must continue to follow him. – Colossians 2:6 NLT
Listen
We have to have a perpetual desire to want to know the Lord better, to know His heart and revelation of His love for us.
So often we think accepting Jesus as our Lord and saviour, is enough and by doing so we’ll go to heaven, our past is forgiven and that this is all that’s there to it.
But no, the scripture above says we must also continue to follow Him in this journey on a daily basis.
The Lord wants to draw our hearts after Him, to get into a lifetime relationship of committing ourselves to follow Him.
Walking with God is not just a story or religious outcome, it is something we can experience as a physical tangible relationship with this supreme God who saved us on the cross.
So often we have this tendency of experiencing the blessings that come with following God and then just go about our own lives. But Apostle Paul tells us we must still continue to follow and chase after His heart.
Let’s not be satisfied where we are or be stagnant in the love we have for God in our hearts.
We love Him because He first loved us, so if His love for us is not evoking a natural response to love Him back, then there is a problem in our revelation of His love for us.
Jesus died on the cross for the whole world, but it’s not the whole world that is going to make it to Heaven but those who respond back to His love and follow Him is going to make it to Heaven.
Let us follow Him into an intimate garden-experience of a relationship with God.
