Series: Ruth’s Loyalty
Naomi saw and understood that Ruth was not going to give up. The Bible says Ruth was determined to go with Naomi.
It was an intentional decision by Ruth, not a decision led by feelings and emotions. Many times, we say we want to be nice to someone who may have hurt us, but if we are led by emotions, we may not feel like it.
What are your determinations? What are your convictions? What drives your days ahead? Are you intentional about what God has called you to do?
God was intentional about the people He has placed around you. He was intentional about their languages, their desires and about every detail. Are you determined to love them, to forgive them, to feed them, to stand with them?
Our relationships will fail if we are led only by emotions and dreams. We need to have a solid strong determination, led by the Holy Spirit and our trust in God.
Think about the relationships that are weak in your life and not going the way God wants it to go. Whatever you are struggling with, tell God and pray about it. Tell Him you are determined to get this going in His way. God loves an intentional lover, an intentional church, an intentional giver.
May God’s voice take pre-eminence in your life and may you have the determination to stand by God’s word and voice in your life.
Psalm 147:2–3 reveals God's heart as a Restorer rather than a Punisher. Although Israel went into exile because of its own rebellion, God did not abandon His people. Instead, He promised to restore Jerusalem, bring the exiles home, heal the brokenhearted, and bind up their wounds.
The message reminds us that while God may use friends, pastors, counselors, or loved ones to help us, true healing and restoration ultimately come from the Lord. His restoration reaches every part of our lives—our hearts, relationships, health, finances, emotions, and spiritual walk.
God knows every wound, including those hidden from others. Unlike people, who can only comfort from the outside, He sees the deepest parts of our hearts and heals completely. His healing is so complete that even the scars of past pain lose their power to define us.
The devotion encourages believers to fix their eyes on God instead of relying solely on human help. No matter how far someone has drifted, how many mistakes they have made, or how broken they feel, God is still calling them back. His desire is to restore, heal, and make all things beautiful in His perfect timing.
