Do What I Say
John 14:23 NLT
Jesus replied, “All who love Me will do what I say. My Father will love them, and We will come and make Our home with each of them.
We love God because He first loved us and He has shown His love for us on the cross.
And when you have had a revelation of His love for you, you are expected to love Him back and this is how you express your love for Him – not by singing songs, not by going to church 3 times a week etc but by doing what He says.
From Genesis to Revelation you will find the voice of God, His instructions and His perspective. Read the word and fall in love with what He is speaking.
We listen to podcasts and worship songs everyday but we often take our bible reading and meditating on His word for granted.
How can we do what He says when we don’t know what is in the Bible?
Jesus says when we fall in love with God’s word and do what He says, the Father will love us, the expression of His love will become personal and will begin to manifest like never before and it says, “We will come and make our home with each of them”.
This is glory, which means there will be a surrounding atmosphere that will go with you wherever you go, and you will become the home of God. This is how powerful our meditating of God’s word is, that it has the power to host the presence of God.
We cannot listen to other sermons and think that you can host His presence better.
Start by reading and meditating His word and as you fall in love with the word, you will begin to host His presence like never before.
Psalm 147:2–3 reveals God's heart as a Restorer rather than a Punisher. Although Israel went into exile because of its own rebellion, God did not abandon His people. Instead, He promised to restore Jerusalem, bring the exiles home, heal the brokenhearted, and bind up their wounds.
The message reminds us that while God may use friends, pastors, counselors, or loved ones to help us, true healing and restoration ultimately come from the Lord. His restoration reaches every part of our lives—our hearts, relationships, health, finances, emotions, and spiritual walk.
God knows every wound, including those hidden from others. Unlike people, who can only comfort from the outside, He sees the deepest parts of our hearts and heals completely. His healing is so complete that even the scars of past pain lose their power to define us.
The devotion encourages believers to fix their eyes on God instead of relying solely on human help. No matter how far someone has drifted, how many mistakes they have made, or how broken they feel, God is still calling them back. His desire is to restore, heal, and make all things beautiful in His perfect timing.
