Apostle Paul writes a message to Church at Corinth and in 2 Corinthians 12:21 he warns the church about their state and shares his fear about being humiliated by God in the presence of the people (the church) because of their immoral and sexual sins.

The Bible says, Be ye holy; for I am holy. (1 Peter 1:16 KJV)
That is the expectation/standard God has given us. To live a life that is holy, blameless, pure and acceptable in the sight of God.

Apostle Paul says two things in this verse. At first, he says, “I am afraid that the next time I come my God will humiliate me in your presence.” He was a spiritual father to the church at Corinth and he goes on to say, that may feel humiliated before men, angels, demons by the lifestyle lived.

Do you know, every decision you make, you not just affect yourself, you also, humiliate your pastor, your physical/spiritual parents, mentors, the church you belong to who have been praying and investing into you?

It may just be ‘your act’ where other people are not involved, however, when you indulge in sexual sins, lustful activities, stealing, show hatred, you are humiliating all the leaders and the people standing above you.

That’s why, the book of Hebrews talks about obeying your leaders (Hebrews 13:17). Because, your leaders give an account to God and are to be watchful over your lives. Can you imagine how hard it could be for your leaders?

Second part says, “and I shall weep over many who sinnedin the past and have not repented of the immoral things they have done—their lust and their sexual sins.”

There are times I weep not just over myself but my spiritual children and the people I lead, every time we see something going off-track from what God had planned for our lives. We spend our time weeping over them rather than condemning or looking down on them asking God to send a change.

Can you trust the leaders God has appointed over you? If you are struggling with a sin, problem or addiction. The people that God has placed over you, the people who weep over you, they have the capacity to handle your failures only if you can keep your ego aside and expose yourself to your leaders and pastors.

If you had a wound in a private area of your body wouldn’t you expose that part to your doctor to get help, though it could be embarrassing? In the same way, you ought to be willing to do that with your leaders and pastors. Let them see your vulnerability. If that is the man/woman who has been praying in tears for you, they will have the capacity to handle your failures and continue to lead you in the ways of God.

Because, it is better that you be humiliated in front of them and receive help and wholeness than they being humiliated in front of God, people and satan.
