Keep Away
2 Thessalonians 3:6 GNT
“Our friends, we command you in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ to keep away from all believers who are living a lazy life and who do not follow the instructions that we gave them.”
Apostle Paul in 2 Thessalonians 3:6 is warning to stay away from two different people:
1 – Christians who are lazy (who are not hardworking)
2 – Christians who do not listen to our instructions (who are not submissive)
He says that these category of people are more dangerous than any other. Because these kind of people are highly contagious making others as themselves.
An adulterer or a drug addict will not effect you as much as a lazy person might effect you. A sinner who is rebelling/lost is more welcoming and receptive to the love of God compared to a lazy and an insubmissive person.
Paul puts both of them in the same line which means that it is usually laziness that stops you from being submissive.
If you are not willing to submit to the authority God has place in every spear of your lives then the Bible calls you a lazy person.
A lazy person always tries to blame others.
If you feel that you are unwilling to submit to authority or listen to instructions, can you take a moment to repent? And if you are hanging out with such people, then you may have to rethink because the bible says to stay away from such people.
Today refocus and choose to be with the people who are not lazy and who are not insubmissive.
May God give you a revelation of why you need to change your friend circle.
