Series: Lifestyle of Faithfulness
Our lives are to be lived in such a way that we bring our entire lives as a sacrifice to God. The more we yield to God, the more our personalities are laid to rest, God’s personality begins to rule in us, and we become more like Him.
God says to Abraham that He wants him to:
– Live a blameless life, even though the world is a crooked and wicked place that is devoid of God.
– Live a faithful life, where very rarely people will appreciate our faithfulness or blamelessness.
– Do the uncommon thing of being faithful to God.
How can we become more faithful in our lives?
Faithfulness is an essential thing in every relationship. If you ask a husband and his wife, an attorney and a client, a doctor and his patient, even unmarried couples who are courtshipping; faithfulness is an essential commodity in every single area.
What about our relationship with God? Do we take faithfulness seriously? Do we see the need and importance of being faithful with God?
Many times we have a contractual relationship with God where we say, ‘God if you do this for me, I’ll live my life like this and like that, or I’ll do this and that for you’. It’s become no longer about faithfulness but like a business contract.
God knows about these things; the things of the world. He asks Abraham to be faithful in spite of all these things.
What the world offers us is not better than what God offers us. The way we conduct our life and live on this planet needs to be pleasing to God.
