Struck and Healed
Isaiah 19:22 NLT
“The LORD will strike Egypt, and then He will bring healing. For the Egyptians will turn to the LORD, and He will listen to their pleas and heal them.”
We have been enjoying studying through the book of Isaiah. God talks about striking Egypt and bring healing and the people will turn to Him.
The verse sounds contradictory leaving us with a question, does God want to heal or strike?
Hebrews 12:6 NLT – “For the LORD disciplines those He loves, and He punishes each one He accepts as His child.”
Discipline takes place sometimes with striking and it’s a painful processes.
Disciplining is a major part of the day for children. This is not to destroy the child or humiliate, but to direct and align them into a particular way of life.
The Bible says, the Lord strikes Egypt and then brings healing for the Egyptians to turn to the Lord.
The Lord does allow this in our lives. The life of Jonah in the belly of fish is one of the examples.
God loved Jonah too much to let him go. While it was painful, God made sure to bring him to Nineveh.
As men of God we struggle bringing a revival, but when Jonah brought the news the whole city repented. That is the kind of revival that is possible through a man that is disciplined by God.
Can you ask the Lord to discipline and heal you today?
Prayer: Father, I release Your healing over every person listening to the podcast that is feeling broken, or going through a difficult phase. I pray that You will bring healing because they are turning to You. Because they are willing to be re-directed in many areas of their life. I pray You will heal them. Thank You for the disciplining You have already given us and You will bring a restoration in this season. In Jesus mighty name, Amen!
Psalm 147:2–3 reveals God's heart as a Restorer rather than a Punisher. Although Israel went into exile because of its own rebellion, God did not abandon His people. Instead, He promised to restore Jerusalem, bring the exiles home, heal the brokenhearted, and bind up their wounds.
The message reminds us that while God may use friends, pastors, counselors, or loved ones to help us, true healing and restoration ultimately come from the Lord. His restoration reaches every part of our lives—our hearts, relationships, health, finances, emotions, and spiritual walk.
God knows every wound, including those hidden from others. Unlike people, who can only comfort from the outside, He sees the deepest parts of our hearts and heals completely. His healing is so complete that even the scars of past pain lose their power to define us.
The devotion encourages believers to fix their eyes on God instead of relying solely on human help. No matter how far someone has drifted, how many mistakes they have made, or how broken they feel, God is still calling them back. His desire is to restore, heal, and make all things beautiful in His perfect timing.
