The Obedient Angel
Psalms 103:20 HCSB
Praise the Lord, all His angels of great strength, who do His word, obedient to His command.
This morning, know that the Lord is watching over and protecting you, and caring for every need that you have. You are under the shadow of His wings.
Psalms 103:20 talks about the angels that are in heaven that are obedient to praise the Lord.
Those who are obedient to the Lord and do what He says, should praise Him.
The men and women of God who are chosen by God are also called as angels (ref. Revelation 1,2&3) where Apostle John keeps mentioning as “written to the angles of Ephesus or Philadelphia and so on”. Apostle John here is referring to the leaders, the pastors of the church.
We define leader/leadership in our relationship with people, but the mark of a matured leader is one who waits for the instruction from God’s heart.
So often we give so many excuses, conditions and reasons to not obey God which puts off God to continue to work in our life. If you are just willing to ask God to lead you through the day, you will see how God will open doors for opportunity to speak to people around you.
The reason why people fall away from worship and genuine love towards God is because of disobedience. Jesus said “those who love Me will obey my commandments”. This is not two different things – if you worship Him you’d be willing to obey and if you obey Him its also an act of worshiping Him.
May this be an instruction to you for the rest of your day.
Psalm 147:2–3 reveals God's heart as a Restorer rather than a Punisher. Although Israel went into exile because of its own rebellion, God did not abandon His people. Instead, He promised to restore Jerusalem, bring the exiles home, heal the brokenhearted, and bind up their wounds.
The message reminds us that while God may use friends, pastors, counselors, or loved ones to help us, true healing and restoration ultimately come from the Lord. His restoration reaches every part of our lives—our hearts, relationships, health, finances, emotions, and spiritual walk.
God knows every wound, including those hidden from others. Unlike people, who can only comfort from the outside, He sees the deepest parts of our hearts and heals completely. His healing is so complete that even the scars of past pain lose their power to define us.
The devotion encourages believers to fix their eyes on God instead of relying solely on human help. No matter how far someone has drifted, how many mistakes they have made, or how broken they feel, God is still calling them back. His desire is to restore, heal, and make all things beautiful in His perfect timing.
