Trust in the Lord, Wait on Him
Isaiah 40:28-31 Have you never heard? Have you never understood? The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of all the earth. He never grows weak or weary. No one can measure the depths of his understanding. He gives power to the weak and strength to the powerless. Even youths will become weak and tired, and young men will fall in exhaustion. But those who trust in the Lord will find new strength. They will soar high on wings like eagles. They will run and not grow weary. They will walk and not faint.
We generally think we are strong people, But, when we realise we are weak, we run to our parents, our children, spouses or pastors or leaders that we can receive help.
The word says, when we come to Him first, God can use anyone to help and strengthen us, but, that becomes a medium of dependance most times.
Because, the Lord is an everlasting God, for those who trust in the Lord or wait on the Lord.
For example, a chicken, waits for the egg to hatch without hurrying for the baby to pop out. Sometimes, nothing changes in the waiting, but, what is happening inside makes a difference.
Trusting in the Lord requires a level of faith without seeing or hearing.
The Bible uses statements like ‘Have you never heard? , have you never understood?’ explaining, if God has delivered, provided in the past, the same God can dot it now for you!
The Bible talks about a ‘new strength’ being given when our trust is in the Lord.
Prayer:
Father, I pray for every person, I pray, everything they need to experience to enjoy the new strength, every dependency, reliance on you, every whole-hearted trust in Your name, every faith that has to be built, be built up as they wait on You. Help us to put our trust in You in Jesus name, Amen!
Psalm 147:2–3 reveals God's heart as a Restorer rather than a Punisher. Although Israel went into exile because of its own rebellion, God did not abandon His people. Instead, He promised to restore Jerusalem, bring the exiles home, heal the brokenhearted, and bind up their wounds.
The message reminds us that while God may use friends, pastors, counselors, or loved ones to help us, true healing and restoration ultimately come from the Lord. His restoration reaches every part of our lives—our hearts, relationships, health, finances, emotions, and spiritual walk.
God knows every wound, including those hidden from others. Unlike people, who can only comfort from the outside, He sees the deepest parts of our hearts and heals completely. His healing is so complete that even the scars of past pain lose their power to define us.
The devotion encourages believers to fix their eyes on God instead of relying solely on human help. No matter how far someone has drifted, how many mistakes they have made, or how broken they feel, God is still calling them back. His desire is to restore, heal, and make all things beautiful in His perfect timing.
