Separation from Unholy

You must distinguish between what is sacred and what is common, between what is ceremonially unclean and what is clean. – Leviticus 10:10 ICB

Transcript

When we walk closely with God, we will have a clear perspective on things that are necessary in life and those that are unnecessary, we will be clearly able to identify and know, what is good and evil, and, what is holy and unholy.

In Leviticus 10:10, the Lord gives us an instruction, to keep what is holy separate from what is not holy, and, to keep what is unclean, separate from what is clean. We can save ourselves from a lot of trauma, if we are intentional to pursue this particular instruction. Light and darkness cannot go hand in hand, if we try to mix it up with a little of God and a little of the world, we are in for a great trouble! A lot of pain and affliction we experience, is a result of mixing what is holy and sacred with that is, unholy and unconsecrated. There is always a war that is waging between the things of the spirit and the things of the flesh. The Bible talks about Nadab and Abihu, who functioned as the Priests of the most high God. But, once when their offering was ignited by an unclean and unholy fire, it was only a matter of seconds, before the fire from Heaven, consumed them. Here, because of the adulteration, there was a conflict in the spiritual realm between the right fire and the unholy fire, which resulted in death. We can draw yet another example from the life of Abraham, when he listened to Sarah’s voice and gave birth to Ishmael. He was supposed to be a blessing to Abraham and Sarah, but this was a decision made in the flesh and not in spirit. Later on, when Abraham gave birth to Isaac, which was God’s promise, Ishmael would constantly provoke Isaac to a point, Abraham had to send away Hagar and Ishmael from his house. Generations and centuries later, we still see the conflict that has resulted because of a decision made by Abraham in the flesh. There was a mixture of holy and unholy which resulted in chaos later on.

If you think you are still confused or undecided and see yourself indulging in the world a little and rendering service in the church, let these examples serve as a warning. We should know to draw our boundaries, because, adulteration of the spirit realm is a dangerous business. There are going to be people, who will try to manipulate us and portray sin as normal, but remember, every sin attaches a particular spirit to us, every sin is our alignment to the kingdom of darkness, every sin is saying ‘yes’ to the lordship of devil over our lives. This is why we cannot mix what is clean, holy and consecrated with that of unclean, unholy and unconsecrated. We will not be separating ourselves from the things of the world by our own will power, but, we have a greater force, a greater power, that is the Holy Spirit to guide us and help us, to be our counsellor and support. From this day on, let us commune with the Holy Spirit and live a life of holiness.

When you adulterate the things of God, you bring confusion in your life. Share on X
