Series: Solomon’s Early Mistakes

Today in India we celebrate the Republic Day and as we celebrate this day, would you take a minute to pray for India that God will send revival to our nation.

Continuing on the topic of Solomon’s mistakes this week, lets look at today’s scripture:

1 Kings 11:7 – On the Mount of Olives, east of Jerusalem, he even built a pagan shrine for Chemosh, the detestable god of Moab, and another for Molech, the detestable god of the Ammonites.

– Solomon not only gave his heart to other women, insisted on his own ways or refused to follow the Lord, but he went out of his way to built pagan shrines, not just one but for multiple gods.
– Solomon was the one who built one of the glorious temple for God where His glory abode, but here we see the same King building shrines for pagan gods.

What made him drift away?

– He made small compromises earlier in his life and he didn’t realise that it would cost him his destiny.
– We tend to put our hope and dependency on many things in our life (our job, church etc) and stop giving the exclusive rights to God.
– God should only be our source of hope and joy.
– Nobody can serve two masters at a time.

Today evaluate your heart and check if you have any dual nature in you where you are giving your heart to God and also someone else (may be people, ministry, career, church etc), bring it to the feet of Jesus and disconnect from those things that will cost your destiny.

Hope that this word will go deep into your spirit and will remain as a burning fire in your heart all through the day and for the rest of this week and hope that none of us will make the same mistakes that Solomon made in his life.
