It Shall Be Well
Gedaliah the son of Ahikam, son of Shaphan, swore to them and their men, saying, “Do not be afraid to serve the Chaldeans. Dwell in the land and serve the king of Babylon, and it shall be well with you. – Jeremiah 40:9 (ESV)

Good morning and greetings. In Jesus name, welcome
to this amazing new day. Do you believe God still has a plan for you? Do you believe that his purposes in your life have not come to an end? That his plans, it has not failed permanently? There are so many choices and decisions that we can make as we go through life which can temporarily add extra obstacles, extra hindrances and delays in our life. But that doesn’t mean that God has given upon us anything that he’s never going to use us. God’s original intention was never for the Israelites to dwell in Babylon. God did not want a stranger, an alien, somebody who doesn’t understand the ways and the covenants of God to rule over God’s people. But since the nation disobeyed, since the leaders rebelled against God, since they lost their first love and devotion and worship to God, the entire nation had to be exiled to Babylon. Jeremiah the prophet encourages the nation of Israel to go and dwell in the land of Babylon.
I can raise a Shadrach, Meshach, Abednego, I can raise Ezra and Nehemiah from this place of captivity. I can release the verdict of Caesar, who is going to bring back the entire nation to their homeland. I’m going to release another king who will now sponsor the rebuilding of the temple in Jerusalem. So God is asking these guys to not give up in spite of failing or missing the original plan of God. But you’ll need to continue to trust Him and surrender to his heart. You may find Nebuchadnezzar asking you to bow down before a gold statue, or Darius who is going to ask you to not pray to anybody else, but to him. But if you are going to stay humble, if you will return back to your first love, to your first consecration, then there is absolutely nothing that the Lord cannot do to help you. This is a God of second chances and he’s telling you it shall be well with you.
Father, we thank you for this word that you gave us through your prophet Jeremiah. We thank you, for you are a God of second chances.
We know that there is no situation, no issue, no problem in our lives that is not redeemable. This morning, I commit your children and their issues into your hands. We thank you for the second chance that you’re giving each and every one of us. We receive the portion that grace the anointing to now do well for your kingdom and for your glory. One more time.
In Jesus name we pray. Amen
