An Obligation to Bear

Apr 29, 2020 | Evangelism

Romans 15:1 HCSB
Now we who are strong have an obligation to bear the weaknesses of those without strength, and not to please ourselves.

We must feel fortunate and privileged not only to have a relationship with God but also to be chosen to carry the good news to the ends of the earth. This is a privilege which is not accessible to all. But how do we steward this relationship with God to attract people who do not have it?

Sometimes our words, actions and deeds are contrary to what we believe in, which pushes them away rather than bringing them close to God. Our natural inclination is to please ourselves, but we who have a relationship with God has an obligation to bear witness with those who are weak. We don’t have to make any sacrifices but not judge and look down on people and stop criticising them.

God works in different ways & phases in different people’s life. It is necessary for us not to look down on them but direct them. We help and lead them to that way.

Let us make an effort in reaching out from our comfort zone and not only look upon ourselves but also the minority. If you are sacrificing your comfort for those that are weak, you are willing to carry them. You are not offending them but encouraging them to come and carry the same relationship with God.
