Blessed to be a Blessing
Psalms 67:1-2 HCSB
“May God be gracious to us and bless us; look on us with favor so that Your way may be known on earth, Your salvation among all nations.”
It is only because of the name of Jesus that we experience favour and blessings in our life.
The psalmist in the chapter 67, he is praying for God’s grace, blessing and favour over his life.
Usually we pray for blessings, so that we can build a house, or for our marriage, job etc. something physical that will benefit us, but the psalmist here is praying for blessings, grace and favour over his life so that God’s name be known over the earth, so that the salvation – the name of Jesus could be preached to the ends of the earth.
God wants to bless you even beyond your imagination, but when He blesses you, are you going to use the blessing to glorify His name?
God wants to bless you so that you become a blessing to others.
Today when you pray and ask for God’s blessings, make a commitment that you will use the blessing so that His way will be known throughout the world.
Psalm 147:2–3 reveals God's heart as a Restorer rather than a Punisher. Although Israel went into exile because of its own rebellion, God did not abandon His people. Instead, He promised to restore Jerusalem, bring the exiles home, heal the brokenhearted, and bind up their wounds.
The message reminds us that while God may use friends, pastors, counselors, or loved ones to help us, true healing and restoration ultimately come from the Lord. His restoration reaches every part of our lives—our hearts, relationships, health, finances, emotions, and spiritual walk.
God knows every wound, including those hidden from others. Unlike people, who can only comfort from the outside, He sees the deepest parts of our hearts and heals completely. His healing is so complete that even the scars of past pain lose their power to define us.
The devotion encourages believers to fix their eyes on God instead of relying solely on human help. No matter how far someone has drifted, how many mistakes they have made, or how broken they feel, God is still calling them back. His desire is to restore, heal, and make all things beautiful in His perfect timing.
